QUEEN SELECTION NIGHT

Since 2019 when the Soulanges Irish Society was formed it has been proud to announce the Queen Selection Evening for the Annual St Patrick’s Day Parade. 

Anyone interested in applying for this public speaking event to be Annual Queen of the Parade must read the criteria below.

Criteria for Entry

Individuals interested in participating in this event must be:

• Of some Irish descent
• Woman - 18 to 35 years of age
• A Canadian citizen and resident of the Greater Montreal area
• Willing to attend functions throughout the year, mainly on weekends.

Note: The Queen and Court are exclusive to the Soulanges Irish Society’s St. Patrick’s Parade. They may not accept similar positions in any other 2025 St. Patrick’s Parades.

The Selection Evening is an opportunity for the participants to:

• Explore their Irish roots
• Meet new and interesting people
• Attend events (Queen and Court)
• Receive the following gifts from our sponsors:
• 2 tickets to Ireland from the Soulanges Irish Society
• $500 cheque from the Soulanges Irish Society for the person chosen as Queen
• Gifts for the Queen and her Court.
• Hair and make-up package from Carole St-Pierre for the Queen and her Court.
• Gift certificates for the Queen and her Court.
• Many other gifts as well

WHAT IS THE SELECTION NIGHT?

The parade committee will name 3 judges who will evaluate the contestants based on the following criteria:

• Confidence and public speaking - 25%
• Community involvement and community spirit - 25%
• Crowd participation and reaction - 25%
• One specific question that all participants will be given beforehand - 25%

Grand Marshal BREAKFAST: Friday March 14th, 2025.

IRISH MINGLE: Saturday, MARCH 1st, 2025

GRAND MARSHAL ROAST & TOAST DINNER: Saturday, March 8th, 2025
Location: Whitlock Golf & Curling Club, 128 Cote St. Charles Hudson QC

PARADE DAY : Saturch 15th, 2025 / 100pm
Location: Various locations throughout Hudson and during the parade.

MONTREAL ST PATRICKS DAY PARADE DAY: Sunday, March 16th, 2025
Location: Leave from Hudson to Downtown - 9:00 am-6:00 pm

CHATEAUGUAY ST PATRICKS DAY PARADE DAY: Sunday, March 23rd, 2025
Location: Leave from Hudson to Chateauguay - 9:00 am-6:00pm
